She yearned for passion beyond her broken marriage. Then she stepped into a tempestuous love affair across time.

Val Masterson longs for some joy in her life. Trapped in a loveless marriage and shackled to a soul-sucking job, it’s no surprise when a bump on the head gives her vivid dreams of life as a powerful heroine. Transported to twelfth-century Iceland, she gets entangled in a seductive journey with two enigmatic brothers, and her fictional suitors vie for much more than her hand…

Thrilled yet apprehensive, Val's world takes a shocking turn when the brothers' father seeks to claim her as his concubine. Caught in a whirlwind of desire and intrigue, her life in the physical world crumbles, and she’s faced with a daunting choice to choose a bed and sleep in it.

In a frigid land where reality blurs with fantasy, can she find the warmth her body and soul crave?

Past Storm and Fire is a scorching timeslip romance that will leave you breathless. Lose yourself in the intoxicating allure of enticing characters, delicious love triangles, and lush historical backdrops. Emeline Rhys weaves a tale of enchantment and desire that will transport you through the ages.

Clever plotlines. Not your average time slip novel!

I loved the inclusion of SCA (well represented) and a gay man as her bestbfriend. I was moved by the heroine's struggles in the present world (survives hurricane and useless husband). She slowly manages to reclaim her power and sense of self while exploring the world of Iceland in the 12th century in her dreams. Very detailed descriptions of life in that time - it felt real to me.

Past Storm and Fire: A Viking Timeslip Romance

A page-turner that I wanted to find out what happened next. In 1996 she lived a normal life but dreamed of a life a thousand years ago which seemed more real each time. So she began to write it down as a novel, but you'll be really surprised by the ending.

Love in modern day and days of ole

Wasn’t sure I was going to like this book but found that I couldn’t put it down. It’s one of those stories that I would steal away to read a chapter on break rather than talk with friends. The author really does a wonderful job of researching and bring modern day life together with history.

If you ever have a case of wanderlust...

A challenging undertaking of a novel, balancing not one plot line, but two. Christy Nicholas manages to not only keep the reader engaged with both plots but is able to weave them together seamlessly. Many authors struggle with proper pacing and applying the right amount of weight when dealing with dual plot lines but Ms Nicholas is able to do so. The characters are endearing and at times infuriating (as in villainous!). In all, Past Storm and Fire is a well researched and well paced novel that will make those of us who feel they may have an inexplicable connection to faraway places...
